Just has a light Indian meal, my last solid meal until next Saturday.
I plan to start my day with lots of water and a light run. Then I will have some master cleanse. I probably will have a spinach/carrot juice around 11:00.
That's the plan.
Peace and love and be gentle to yourself.

Setting up Fast Summer 2012
It has been some time since I suggested a community juice fast
(kind of like a group hug). I am going to do one starting July 15 and ending
July 21 (feel free just to join for just a few days). This is purely a cleanse
and prepare for a richer more comprehensive program I am putting together for
the fall. (In the fall, I am looking at a year-long eating program that I
believe will create great health.)
So there are a number of ways you can do this fast, I think of it
as varying levels of self-love and whatever fits your lifestyle… However the fast
should include the master cleanser (see below). The idea is to drink as much water
and master cleanser as possible. These are some ideas for you:
·
Vegetable Juice: Juice vegetable juices 1 – 3
times a day, drinks these as your meals. Vegetable juices could be carrot,
spinach, kale, collards, cucumbers or any combinations of fresh squeezed
vegetable juices. You can juice them yourselves or go to a store like Jamba
Juice and let them juice it for you. Of course throughout the day drink the
master cleanser. Try to stay organic.
·
Since it is summer, I do a fruit juice like watermelon… but if I do that I only do it once
a day.
·
Master Cleanse: You could do a master cleanse
fast only, this is tough but manageable. Just do master cleanse beverage all
day long
·
Adding a salad: This is a plain salad, lettuce
and cucumber with lemon juice and EVO. You could have this twice a day if
needed.
·
You can do any combination of the above. You
can also add herbal tea, of course no caffeine or sugar or honey.
Remember the first day or two you might get a headache, try to
tough it out, they say it is healing and it is your body ridding itself of
toxins. Oh, needless to say, if you are pregnant or managing an ailment or life
with serious drugs, legal or illegal, you should not do this.
Master Cleanser recipe is about:
·
For 16 ounces of water:
o
one lemon,
o
1/5
teaspoon of cayenne,
o
grade B maple syrup to taste (2 – 4 tablespoons) I try not to overdo the syrup
because we want to reduce our dependence on sweets but if it taste good we
drink more and drinking a lot of this beverage is what we want to achieve - the
last fast I excluded this completely but is was very hard core and as the kids
say “nasty”)
This is what I am going to do:
·
Good Morning cleanse: 2 eight ounce glasses or
more of Master cleanse (Water, lemon and cayenne).
·
Mid Morning Cocktail: Vegetable juice (Carrot
and Kale or Carrot and Cucumber or Carrot and spinach or some combination of
the all of the above). Add a little ginger for taste
·
More master cleanse (really drinking this all
day)
·
Midday Special: water, cinnamon, ginger and
lemon, juice an apple or two with it to add some flava, play with the amounts
to get a taste I like.
·
More master cleanser
·
Evening Cocktail: Similar to Mid-morning.

Summer Fast 2012
It has been some time since I suggested a community juice

ending July 21. This is purely a cleanse and prepare for a richer more
comprehensive program I am putting together for the fall. (In the fall, I am
looking at a year-long eating program that I believe will create great health.)
But for now I just want to do a little cleansing fast.
Summer is a great time to do a fast, the weather is warm, the fruits and
vegetables are plenty so you can juice to your hearts content. I am recommending
juicing carrots, spinach, kale, cucumber and any other vegetable, particularly
the green ones. These should be you base foods for you juice, feel free to
throw in an apple and ginger for flavor. But I think it is important to let a
fast suit your way of life, so make it your own.
I plan on working out, a morning run and then a karate
class in the evening or some yoga. If that proves to be too much I will add a
green salad to the mix for lunch with lettuce and cucumbers and a lemon and oil
(olive) dressing. Or even cut back on the working out.
So there are
a number of ways you can do this fast, I think of it as varying levels of
self-love and whatever fits your lifestyle… However the fast should include the
master cleanser (see below). The idea is to drink as much water and master

first day or two you might get a headache, try to tough it out, they say it is
healing and it is your body ridding itself of toxins. Those of you who are
particularly toxic you may have a headache for a little longer, you know who
you are. My experience, as a toxic
individual, says it goes away after a few days and then you start to feel
great. If you do plan on working out, see how you feel and then modify, don’t
be intense. I try to read spiritual things and not negative things, spiritual
has a wide girth and means different things to different people; I want to put
myself in a healthier space, all aspects of my being. Maybe treat yourself to
gentle yoga, a massage or a healthy walk in the woods or at the beach or in the
city, whatever you find solace (I don’t think the gentleman’s club is the idea).
Oh, needless
to say, if you are pregnant or managing an ailment or life with serious drugs,
legal or illegal, you should not do this. The bottom line for me is keeping it loving to
yourself and to others and share the idea with other people. We need to create
peace, peace in Iraq, peace in Afghanistan, peace in Pakistan, peace in Haiti,
peace in Mexico, peace in Iran, peace in New York, peace in LA, peace in
Atlanta, peace in Paris, peace in Chicago, peace in London, peace in Prague, peace
in the West Bank, peace in Jerusalem, peace in Malawi, peace in Johannesburg, peace in Somalia, peace in Sudan, peace in
Cairo, peace in Lagos, peace in Beijing, peace in Delhi, peace in Moscow, peace in Santiago, peace in
Madrid, peace in Norwalk, you get the picture…. peace in our hearts… If we
envision peace our leaders will deliver on our vision.

per 16 ounces of water.
Try to stay
organic; probably requires a trip to Whole Foods, the most expensive store in
the world. I usually make a big batch of Master Cleanser in the morning and
drink it all day. I have found sometimes the cayenne can be overwhelming so you
might want to do an amount you can tolerate. You can also do this as a hot drink.
The idea of
this is to do it as a community, so feel free to share your comments,
suggestions and experiences.

Sticking with it
I am still hunting and gathering, back on the road it is real tough but I am hanging in there. I got off a flight today in Dallas and the smell of bread was everywhere but I hung in there and had some grass and nuts for dinner (arugula, pear slices and cashews). I am able to maintain because I feel great, I am even sleeping better, just more alive.
I found a nice way to get a little sweetness into the diet without jumping into some junk. I bought a bunch of apples (on sale this time of year), cut them into chunks, skin and all, I squeezed the juice of an orange on top, I threw in some cinnamon (a lot) and stuck it in the oven. It was delicious. Then the next time I threw nuts into the mix, even better.
I could do this for a long time.
Peace

Keep on Gathering
It has been almost two weeks and I feel fine, as if I could do this my whole life. I think I am going to try incorporate some changes when I go back to a "regular diet" but I am going to keep certain aspects long term. I will probably lose bread and pasta permanently, I may make bread myself but it won't resemble anything you find in the stores. I will definitely do this next spring, this is really a test run - test run for the rest of your life.
I was on the road briefly this week, on the road it is hard. The airports are filled with garbage, you just can't buy nuts without salt and if you can it will be only one type of nut. I was not eating healthy on the road, unless a green salad and some nuts is healthy.
My body does feel good and I am wondering what is it, no dairy? no white flour? no refined sugar? no chemicals from the processed foods? all of the above?
Be gentle on your body
Peace
Kevin

Continuing to Hunt and Gather
I am starting to feel pretty good, this is not as bad as I thought it would be. I definitely do not miss the simple carbohydrates like bread and pasta, although I don't eat them that much. I did see a piece of dark chocolate steering at me, asking me if I wanted to go out on a date tonight, I told it "no, I am on a hunting and gathering diet which means no processed foods and definitely no refined sugars." Then she said, "I am not so refined, not like that milk chocolate." I noticed it had hazel nuts and my mind tried to justify, "hey those hazel nuts are unprocessed, we could just eat the hazel nuts, we would barely taste the residual chocolate around the nuts." But I shot her down, I said behind me your evil chocolate.
Seriously, what a great gift you are giving yourself, those processed foods just can't be good for our bodies or our minds.
I know I said milk is okay but I encourage any of the adults to leave that stuff alone, I think it is also bad. Observe how your body is feeling.
Peace

Hunter Gatherer - Two week Diet
I have been thinking… I know dangerous problem #1; and now I have a new idea… This is purely in search of a healthier physical way, attempting to get back to basics for awhile and not feel tortured in the process:
My new idea is the “The Hunter Gatherer Diet”. This may be better than a fast because you are actually eating and since we live in a modern world it is really the modern day Hunter Gatherer Diet (Your local food store can provide the grounds for the hunting and gathering). It is pretty simple, no processed stuff but eat as much of the unprocessed stuff as you want. My objective is to eliminate for two weeks all the processed stuff that is no good. I would recommend people try to go organic and try to eliminate those complex chemicals that are designed to kill little pest and preserve foods, I just get worried about my body processing such complex chemicals.
Cooking foods is completely fine, baking, boiling, broiling but try to stick with regular ovens, stovetop and barbeque, no microwaving.
So here’s what is good:
• Fresh fruits
• Fresh Vegetables (any and all apply, feel free to cook or eat raw, like salads)
• Nuts (could be roasted but without any salt)
• Beans (not canned or bottled), get them dry and then cook them
• Whole grains bought raw at the store, unprocessed and not canned
• You can juice vegetables
• Eggs are good (farm fresh)
• Milk (as unprocessed as possible)
• Raw unprocessed honey
• Regular teas, herbal teas and coffee are okay but not the decaf stuff
For my carnivore friends
• Any meat or fish that you buy raw, you don’t have to go out and actually hunt them down, although some might find this aspect fun. Come to think of it, insects and worms are also good, the ultimate fast food, roaches are really probably the fastest of fast foods.
I am struggling with olive oil, I think no but if you need it, fine; but it should never be fried. No frying allowed!
These foods and beverages are absolutely out:
• Flour, breads, cakes, bagels…
• Pasta of any kind
• Candy including all chocolate (just for two weeks, you can handle it)
• Table sugar, table salt,
• Salad dressings (use oil and lemon juice or some other juice),
• Prepackaged beverages that come in bottles or cans
• Tofu or Tempe
• Cheese
This is a two week experience, starting on November 1. Let me know how you are doing.
